Organic Bag and Various Hats

From my last posts you'd be forgiven for thinking that Christmas wasn't happening in our house. I am a bit behind this year but at last have finished a few things.

This is the "Organic" Bag from Rowan 40. A strange name. It's knitted in Rowan Tapestry shade Pot Pourri with those dangly bits in Kid Classic (Bear and Crushed Velvet) and then felted.

I followed the felting instructions (such as they were) - " machine wash at 40, leave to dry naturally, easing into shape" and my washing machine is cold fill and very accurate with its heating so I can be sure it was 40 but my bag is 1" all round smaller than it should be even with pulling it as much as I dared. It's lined and fastened with a magnetic fastener.

I've wrapped it up now so I can't check butI think the bottom of the bag is level and this uneveness a quirk of photography. It's going to be a present for my youngest daughter and although it won't be a surprise because she asked me to make it when she saw Rowan 40, she hasn't seen it finished and I'm fairly confident that she won't find it here.

All of these have been knitted from stash and not following any particular pattern. And they are all for grandchildren. I have knitted one hat for me in Noro Blossom but for some reason I can't take a good photo of it.

I couldn't resist including these last two. She's a cutie isn't she?

And finally news of my jacket which is now a cardigan and in fact nearly complete.

I was worried that it would be too bright but in fact I'm really pleased with the colour - Louisa Harding Impression shade 03. I shall wear this with my lbj to brighten it up for Christmas and I've bought a new dress to wear on Christmas Day itself which goes very well with my large Icarus. I'll try and get a photo of this next time.

Wow! You've been busy, that's for sure - and I love everything that you made! The Organic Bag looks absolutely fantastic, and the hats and caps are so gorgeous too! What a great thing caps are to use up a bit of stash- and leftover yarn, no?
And my gosh, what a real cutie the little one is, what a lovely, cuddly little face - and the caps suit her so perfectly! I love these pics!

Oooh, I really do like that bag.

All the hats are great and the little lady is cute, cute, cute. I love having a boy and wouldn't know what to do with a girl, but then I think of all the lovely, girly colours (wistfully). Mind you, I use enough girly colours for myself, being quite a girly, girl.

I really like the Impression shade, and won't it look fab with your lbj!
