Holiday Knitting

First I must show you the wild garden border where we had our disaster with the poppies that we inadvertently dug up. I managed to rescue a few and replanted them and luckily they have survived and are still flowering.
You can just see them here and there, they are the smallest and most delicate looking.

I thought this almost qualified for ECF but I'm too late. It's lovely isn't it? Fleece Artist Sea wool colour Pinata.
SeaCell is appearing all over the place....this is Phil Thalassa from Phildar. 75%Cotton/25%Seacell.

We're very lucky to have aPhildar shop very near us here - closer than my lys at home in fact.

And see what has started in our nearest town

It says Cafe Tricot. It's only once a month and unfortunately we shall be home then. And I'm not sure how good my French would be for that.

Now, some finished socks

These are YarnYard sock club yarn with some Phildar sock wool for the contrasting bits. I'm keen on these contrasts at the moment.

These are two pairs of Regia 6ply - one each for my two older grandsons.

And Cherry Tree Hill merino sock wool. I'd originally bought it to make a Shoalwater but I didn't like how it was turning out. It is making lovely socks. The lacey pattern is up the front of the sock, I'm sorry it had to be modelled on an arm and not a foot but it was better that way.

All the socks were made my usual way.

Now, my next shawl. I've not got very far yet, but it's a start.

It's "Spring Things Shawl" from Susan Pierce Lawrence, the designer of my favourite Forest Canopy Shawl. I'm using a lovely yarn from Posh Yarn but I don't have the yarn details as I brought this to France already otn. I'll give you them when I get home.

Oooh, France. Je suis si envieux! [Sorry...just had to take the opportunity to use my college French ;-)]

Your socks look just perfect. That lovely heel is flawless...do you use Priscilla Gibson-Roberts' short-row heel?

They are short-row heels but although I use PGR for lots, the short-rows are "no-wrap" documented here -http://kathrynsknitting.blogspot.com/2007/06/toe-up-sock-blueprint.html

They always seem to give a good result.
