Mystery Stole 3 - Swan Lake
I used a lovely lace weight merino from The Yarn Yard. It's much finer than anything I had previously used and took me a while to get used to it but it was worth it. I wasn't sure I would like its lack of symmetry with a point at one end and the wing at the other but I love the finished look. It has got beads on but they are really hard to see in the photo...in fact if I made another I would use more obvious beads.
Finished size 72" x 14 1/2"
The wing "feathers"
The wing is curving round the front and the point is hanging down.
And another close-up.
...Another one started....
I started this in France but I've been busy with other things and progress has been slow
It's "Lacy Kerchie fScarf" by Lisa Daehlin and the pattern is in Interweave Knits Holiday Gifts 2006. I'm using Phil'Bambou from Phildar on 4mm needles, colour Eucalyptus. The yarn is really drapey and with fantastic stitch definition but like other bamboo yarns I've used very splitty.

Alice, your stole is beautiful, and I see the beads in your close-up photo on your blog.
I hadn't fully appreciated the "wing" effect before - it's very striking, as is n's lovely subtle yarn. eautiful.
I love the colour of your swan lake. It is really delicate. Did you sign up for the secret stole? I am still waiting for my yarn to arrive from angel yarns it has been over a week. I really want to do my swatch. The scarf is pretty looks like it might be a good christmas present. I am on the look out!
WOW, thats a beautiful stole..
Your MS3 is beautiful! It is so delicate! I think the design looks much better worn than laid out flat ifyswim. And Eucalyptus is a great colour.
PS: Thanks for the toe-up tips. I might be tempted to try again - one day :)
Your swan lake stole is beautiful. Just beautiful. Congratulations on the finish!
That is absolutely beautiful! I love the colour you picked. Agree that this design looks sooo much lovelier when worn, it drapes really well.
Wow, your Swan Lake stole looks beautiful!! And your Lacy Kerchief Scarf looks very pretty too. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished scarf :-)
I've not seen a better interpretation of MS3 than this - it's beautiful.
Now I have seen a few of these and indeed joined but never got around to knitting it. When I saw the 'wing' I hated it but THIS looks stunning;maybe I should have a re-think :)
This stole is definitely a masterpiece! It's so elegant and fragile, and what a beautiful colour too! Congratulations on finishing it, this is indeed a keeper!
