More wild life

Just a quick update from France....

Another baby dormouse fell out of its nest yesterday so now we've got two snuggled up together in the shoe box. We're feeding them bits of seeds, nectarine and apple at the moment. I can't take a photo because I can't really look at them without getting upset.

Until yesterday we had at least seven little bats spending the days behind the salon shutter and it was great fun watching them swoop around catching insects in the evening. I don't know why but they're not there today. Hope they're alright....

And in our "wild flower area", just as I was about to scatter some nigella seeds kindly given me by my neighbour, a bird flew up from the ground revealing a nest full of babies almost under my feet. I beat a hasty retreat and hope the bird returns soon. As far as I can tell from the brief glance I had of it, it's a skylark.

Wildlife is nice to watch, just as long everything is ok for them. Nothing worse than animals suffering or worse. Good luck and enjoy your holiday anyway.
