In the Summer Shade

Well, that's another year that I've missed WonderWool Wales. We were going to set off early(ish) and I would do yarn looking (ie buying) dh was going to look round the food section and he was even quite looking forward to it and then we were going for a walk in the afternoon. That was the plan on Friday evening until Saturday night when four of us were attacked by a vomiting bug. Not nice. Next year maybe...

In the Summer Shade

Finally blocked. And as usual - what magic is in the blocking!

I knitted this during our Easter holiday in France as a test knit for Laura at Fiberdreams. I knitted it on 4mm needles with two skeins of Violet Green's silk/cashmere lace weight in colour Morello. It was a bit trickier than most of the lace I've been knitting recently because there was patterning on both sides, and the pattern itself was slightly more complicated (and impossible for me to memorise) towards the end. But the end result was definitely worth it.

oh, sorry to hear about the bug and missing wonderwool, we didn't get to go either, maybe next year?

wow, what a lovely shawl - the colour and pattern are stunning.

The shawl is stunning! The yarn sounds like it will be so soft to wear,(it really is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen). Stomach flus are so unpleasant, if I get the slightest hint of one - or have come into contact with someone who has it, I begin taking probiotics (it's worked for the last several years - no flu bugs for me).

Glorious lace as always.

I hope you are all now fully recovered.
