Stone Walling

We're on our own now for the last week of our holiday. The last of our family visitors left on Friday so we're getting on with some of the diy jobs that are left to do this year.

I seem to have drawn the short straw!!

Michael is doing the skilled man's work re-pointing existing walls while I am considered only fit for the menial task of stone moving.

This is the pile of stones, many of which are buried. In a heap where the builder dumped them.

It is 130 paces to where the new wall is being built.

My job is collecting, transporting and trying to fit the stones together into some sort of approximation to a dry stone wall........

........I'd rather be knitting.......

I've got some more fos to show you when I can get them photographed.
