I had a reply from Ed first thing this morning asking me to phone his programme! I called the office on the international number they'd given me but before I had a chance to go on the programme we heard from AudiUK that they were prepared to repatriate our car, still broken, at their expense and repair it.
Apparently they were unable to find out how long the spare part would take.
Anyway, we are flying back to the UK on Wednesday and Audi are providing us with a hire car until ours is mended.
Not sure if I can bring knitting needles on plane??
