Spring Things Shawl Progress

I know you can't tell from the photo but it is actually nearly finished. Unblocked lace always looks so disappointing that I decided to show you a close up of the nupps instead.

And the white thread running through is my "lifeline" to catch my stitches in case I had a major disaster because I couldn't have faced re-knitting this section. I don't know why - combination of yarn and needle size maybe but I found the execution of these particular nupps really difficult. In the end I had to resort to using a very fine dpns to do the purl-five-together operation. And it was certainly slow-going. The nupps seem rather insignificant now -I'm hoping they will be more apparent after blocking.

I'm on the final stages now and it will be blocked as soon as I'm home on Monday.

3mm needles, 60sts
These are Fleece Artist's Sea Wool Bordello socks in Glacier knitted from the pattern that came with the yarn, although I knitted mine toe-up, as usual .
