Still here...

I'm still here...just.... as the amount of worrying I'm doing is consuming more calories than I can put in so I'm having to act positively to reverse this trend. I can ill afford to lose any weight let alone the half stone that just seems to have dropped off every time I step on the scales.

My eye is much more comfortable although that is no indication of the success or not of the operation. The retina is still being supported by the gas bubble and the first hint of success will be when that has shrunk a bit more. I'm seeing the surgeon later today but I don't think he'll be able to say anything definite, it's more for my reassurance. I need to touch base with him.

I've been able to do bits and pieces of simple knitting but if any complication developed - like a dropped stitch for example, I've had to catch it with a pin for some sort of cobbling treatment later. And I can't see well enough to sew up my Marguerite . And I can't work on the Violet Green Tapestry socks...it's just too easy to make mistakes.

But I'm making progress on the Colinette mitred square throw, I'm not sure the photo will show it very well...

I think any none square squares will be hidden when the border is on.

And I have finished various smaller things....

This is Clarabelle's Cable and Picot Choker . It's very effective isn't it? In Louisa Harding Grace - 50%Silk/50%Wool

and

This is a slight variation. Knitted in Rowan Bamboo Soft - totally un-itchy.

The Lily of the Valley Smoke Ring has been undone and the Jaggerspun Zephyr reknitted as Evelyn Clark's Estonian Garden Scarf; I think I'll find this more useful.

Colour Mushroom 3.75mm Addi Lace. I did twenty repeats of the central Little Flowers section and for the Lily of the Valley section (my favourite) four repeats at one end and ten repeats at the other end. Finished size 68" x 8 1/2". Just a couple more pictures...

I still love the Smoke Ring and I'm planning to do it in a lace weight Cashmere for my friend who is allergic to wool. I've just got to find the right colour.

Oh, I was wondering how you were doing. I hope you will get some reassurance and good news from the doctor.

That scarf is breathtakingly beautiful! I am quite smitten with it. And the chokers are lovely as well.

Be well and know that even "strangers" are sending you good wishes...

So good to hear from you and that you are (sort of) OK! Fingers crossed for good news about your eye...

How fantastic to see the chokers! I'm so chuffed, you wouldn't believe it... I keep meaning to make another, as I fancy one in black. Glad you like it!

And the Estonian scarf is stunning - brilliant knitting as usual!

You've made some beautiful things, Kathryn. I love your colour sense, so elegant and sophisticated.

I hope your meeting with the surgeon brings you reassuring news. In the meantime I have half a stone or so of excess padding that I'm not using at the moment - happy to send it on to you!

I keep checking in to see how you are doing so it's lovely to log on and find a post.
Like the others I hope the meeting was reassuring and that positive things are happening in that eye even if you are not yet aware of thm.

The knitting is gorgeous especially the lace scarf.

I'm so impressed that you are still producing such beautiful knitting with all the eye hassles you are having to endure.

I'm sending you regular positive vibes - hope they help!
