Syncopation

Syncopation was a most enjoyable test knit for Laura at Fiberdreams. I used 5 balls of Louisa Harding's Grace - 50/50/ wool/silk and it is so soft with a fantastic sheen. 4.5mm needles.

It has got just the right amount of shaping to give a really flattering fit. It doesn't look too bad on me either.

Even before it was off the needles Rachel had fallen in love with it - and was wearing it before it had been blocked.

This picture was taken in one of the rare moments when she hadn't got her hands full....

But I've had plenty of other photo opportunities because I think she's worn it just about every day!

My only slight regret is that I didn't make it in a more hard wearing yarn. Gorgeous though Grace is, it is already showing signs of pilling.

Now, tell me. I want to give my eye consultant some hand knitted socks for Christmas and I've just finished a pair in a suitable colour. Do you think it would be very inappropriate gesture?

ETA I don't know why those first two photos are half-sized, Blogger defeats me frequently.

Lovely pullover vest! Young children make for a very busy mom.

I think hand knit socks would be a lovely gift for your eye consultant.

I love the shape of this top it is so flattering, looks especially nice over the colorful dress. In regards to the socks, while I am from California, I can't imagine why someone would not want a pair of homemade socks! Perhaps in subtle shades (I can see from fellow bloggers that bright colors are quite the thing).
