Lacy Kerchief Scarf and Poppy

First a "Thank You" for the comments on my Swan Lake Stole. They are much appreciated.

Lacy Kerchief ScarfFinished

This is Lisa Daehlin's pattern from Interweave Knits, Summer 2005 and also in Interweave Knits Holiday Gifts 2006. I've used the lovely drapey Phil'Bambou from Phildar in colour Eucalyptus - 4mm needles.

I didn't make mine as wide as the pattern so it only took 3 1/2 balls and grew really quickly. I loved knitting it and shall love wearing it and will probably make another.

Poppy Finished

From Yarnplay by Lisa Shobhana Mason.
6 skeins Noro Silk Garden shade #84 and 3 skeins Noro Cash Iroha shade #91 on 5mm needles but I used an extra skein of Silk Garden so that I could match the stripes.

Another fun knit. The underarm to hem is knit sideways in one piece so there are no side seams and I grafted the centre back so no seam there either. Then pick up stitches around the top for the yoke and back.
I very boringly chose exactly the same colours as those used in the book but they do seem a good choice with winter just round the corner.
And just following the instructions has given me a nicely fitting jumper for once.

And next....I'm going to make the Hemlock Ring Blanket like Jared

Kathryn your knitting is so beautiful. I always feel inspired when I come over here - and also secretly wish for some of your knitting speed :) I love them both!

Very lovely scarf and sweater. I also love your model....'she' looks very regal in her beautifully knitted finery.

Such a pretty scarf, and the sweater is fab :-) Love the sideways knit bodice. Looks like a book I need to add to my collection!

I love the scarf and Poppy looks great too. I agree I think it looks great in the colour they used and I have eyed it up a few times but the budjet won't allow at the moment !!

Wow, I can't believe how much you got accomplished in so short a time - and both FOs are stunning indeed! The scarf looks so elegant and fragile, especially in that beautiful colour that you have chosen. And what can I say to Poppy except "WOW!"? It looks absolutely awesome and I can only begin to imagine how amazing the Noro Silk must feel to the skin! I love the colourway too, and the shaping of the sleeves is just perfect - my favourite! Congratulations!

Thanks for your comments on my blog.
I love the scarf, the colour is beautiful. I must admit that Poppy has caught my eye too, it looks so snuggly for the colder weather which seems to be approaching at a rate of knots!!

You have been really busy. I love the scarf, I can see why you would want to make another. The sweater is very pretty - really 'poppy'coloured.

I like Poppy very much too. One couldn't feel anything but warm and snuggly in such a lovely rich colour.

I just love the Noro Top. I've got some Noro I want to do something with but can't decide what. The scarf is beautiful too.
